Housing affordability problems have become a permanent feature rather than a temporary shortage, Hungarian economist László Andor told NEOS. He warned that failing to deal with the housing crisis could trigger explosive political consequences. Andor framed the issue as a structural problem that would not disappear once prices or supply adjusted on their own. His comments point to growing pressure on households and concern among people trying to secure stable accommodation. The political risk comes from the possibility that prolonged hardship will build support for disruptive or anti-establishment movements. Andor, who is also secretary-general of the Foundation for European Progressive Studies, called for the crisis to be treated as a long-term policy challenge rather than ignored.
