France Football has introduced an all-time Ballon d’Or award to identify the greatest footballer across the award’s history. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are among the nominees, confirming the prominence of two leading players from the modern era. Diego Maradona and Pelé are not included in the group described in the announcement. The distinction is separate from the annual Ballon d’Or ceremony and is intended to compare players from across the history of the competition. The award therefore offers a retrospective comparison rather than a prize for one particular season. The report does not list every nominee or explain the voting method, leaving the full field and selection process outside the announcement’s details.
