Edomex inicia construcción de nuevos Centros Colibrí; espacios atenderán a mujeres y menores en situación de calle
Full story
The State of Mexico has begun constructing new Colibrí Centers as part of its response to people living in street situations. The facilities are intended specifically for women and children in vulnerable circumstances. Work on the new sites is under way, moving the Colibrí program into physical construction. The announcement does not identify the municipalities where the centers will open or say how many are included. It also gives no completion deadline, budget or detailed account of the services each site will offer. It is not clear how the new facilities will work alongside existing shelters and social-care agencies. The program is still being described mainly through its target group, with operational details yet to be released.
