Free haze masks to be available to Singaporeans aged 60 and above
A second wave of mask distribution will begin on Friday (Oct 23), expanding eligibility to Singaporeans aged 60 and above, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu said on Thursday.Speaking with the media at Beo Crescent Market, Minister Fu shared shared that the eligibility age will be lowered from 67 to 60, with eligible Singaporeans able to collect a pack of two masks from community clubs (CCs) or mask vending machines from Oct 23.This comes after masks were made eligible to vulnerable Singaporeans last Wednesday following a sharp increase in PM2.5 levels, which saw CCs and mask vending machines dispense N95 masks for those in need. These vending machines are available at selected public transport hubs, social services offices and People's Association venues.Haze masks include N95, KN95, FFP2 and KF94 masks. Those eligible in the first wave but have yet to collect their masks can now collect four masks at any CC.
