Riots broke out in two Ecuadorian prisons, specifically the Cotopaxi No. 1 and Pichincha No. 1 centers. These clashes resulted in at least eight deaths and ten injuries. The unrest happened on the same day as the arrest of Luisa González. She is an opposition leader and former presidential candidate.
Las revueltas tuvieron lugar en el Centro de Privación de Libertad Cotopaxi N.º 1 y en el Centro de Privación Provisional de Libertad Pichincha N.º 1, y coinciden con el arresto de la la excandidata presidencial y líder opositora, Luisa González, durante esta misma jornada.
