Hundreds of 'retired' British hens are getting a new chance at life instead of ending up at the slaughterhouse. The birds are being moved into backyards and homesteads rather than being sent to slaughter. The move is possible thanks to a rehoming campaign organized by the British Hen Welfare Trust, under which people adopt the hens and take them in.
