Police officers encountered a young man involved in digging near the Vltava river twice on Thursday. The first encounter resulted in a fine for illegal activity. The penalty did not discourage him, and he returned to the location later that evening. While there, the ground in a pit gave way and a large amount of earth collapsed onto him. He was quickly rescued and airlifted to a hospital by helicopter. The incident was reported as a result of his repeated illegal digging.
