The Ukrainian embassy in Washington was evacuated after a suspicious object was discovered near the entrance of its consular section. Ukraine's chargé d'affaires in the United States announced the find. Security forces cordoned off the area around the building and cleared staff and visitors out as a precaution. American police units arrived quickly at the scene, followed by a bomb disposal team trained to examine such items. The specialists carried out the necessary checks on the object. After the examinations were completed, the team established that the item posed no danger and gave the all-clear. Normal activity at the diplomatic premises could resume once the perimeter was lifted.
