Connor Hellebuyck has finally been traded, and the deal immediately ranks as one of the biggest moves of the NHL season. The American goaltender is widely regarded as one of the league's elite at the position. He earned that reputation in Winnipeg, where he guarded the Jets' net for years and collected major individual honors, including a Vezina Trophy. Goaltenders with credentials like his almost never become available, which kept his name at the center of trade talk for a long stretch. The completed deal now answers all that speculation with a definite result. For the team bringing him in, he represents an immediate upgrade in the most important spot on the ice. For Winnipeg, the transfer closes a long era with the same man in goal. The report did not include details about the return package or the contract terms.
