Glenrose Xaba targets Mangaung 10K glory to snap Kenyan dominance
Glenrose Xaba heads to the Mangaung 10K with a clear aim: her first Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series win of the season. The South African has already swept the Spar Ladies Series this year, which left her as the runner to beat on home soil. Mangaung offers a flat, fast layout that gives her a real shot at a quick clocking. Kenyan athletes have owned much of the local road-running scene in recent seasons, and breaking that dominance is part of her motivation going into the race. The national 10K record is another target she keeps in view after it slipped out of her hands. A flat course and a strong field are the ingredients record chases feed on. Winning against East African opposition would stamp her as the country's leading distance runner of the season.
Having dominated the Spar Ladies Series, South Africa’s Glenrose Xaba aims to claim her first Absa RUN YOUR CITY title of the season on Mangaung’s flat, fast course while casting an eye on reclaiming the national record.
