The court case over Ekrem İmamoğlu's use of an official vehicle has ended another hearing without a verdict. The charges date from his tenure as Beylikdüzü mayor, when a car belonging to his own company was allegedly used as the official vehicle and its costs were paid from the municipal budget. İmamoğlu defended himself at the hearing and said he had assigned the vehicle to the municipality free of charge for 50 months. In today's money, he told the court, roughly 15 million lira stayed in the public treasury as a result. The prosecution asked for an additional expert report, and the judges accepted the request. The panel then adjourned the hearing to February 12, 2027. Any ruling will therefore wait until the new expert evidence arrives. The long gap leaves the case open for well over a year, with both sides waiting on the next sitting.
