TUTAG to hold extraordinary congress on proposed strike suspension on October 26
The Technical University Teachers' Association of Ghana has scheduled a decisive meeting on its strike. TUTAG will convene an Extraordinary Congress on Monday, October 26, 2026, to go through proposals submitted by the Vice-Chancellors of Technical Universities Ghana. The vice-chancellors' body put the proposals forward in a bid to end the lecturers' ongoing industrial action. Delegates will judge whether the terms on the table justify suspending the walkout. Talks between the two sides have continued while members stay off the lecture halls. An endorsement at the congress would clear the way for teaching at the technical universities to resume. A rejection would push everyone back to negotiations with the academic calendar still at risk. The association has asked members to watch for word from its national leadership once the congress wraps up.
