Mercado Libre suma a Mendoza a su red aérea y amplía su operación logística
Mercado Libre has pulled Mendoza into its air cargo network as part of an expansion of its logistics operation. The company opened a last-mile facility there that can handle up to 96,000 packages a day. It also secured five weekly air freight frequencies to keep goods moving to the region. The combined outlay comes to 9.7 million dollars. With a local depot in place, orders from customers in Mendoza can be sorted and delivered close to home instead of routed through far-off hubs. The added flights shorten the wait between a purchase and its arrival at the door. Speed of delivery is where online marketplaces fight their sharpest battles, and this investment buys Mercado Libre a stronger position in western Argentina.
