Donald Trump says American ships will pass through Cuba once the war in Iran is over, with Marco Rubio tasked with sorting out the island's situation. He made the announcement while addressing supporters who had been pressing him on Cuba policy. Trump asked for patience and told people not to worry about what comes next. He praised Rubio's ability to lead the diplomatic process, saying Rubio wants to know what is happening with Cuba. In his words, the United States will take care of Cuba on the way back from Iran and will make what he called a little stop. The comments connect Cuba policy directly to the Iran conflict in an unusual way. No concrete steps or timelines were laid out in his remarks.
