Microduck robots have passed 20,000 pre-orders after a video featuring Nvidia chief Jensen Huang went viral. The small open-source machines come from Pollen Robotics and are trained with Nvidia technology. Hugging Face's leadership expects deliveries to reach buyers before Christmas. According to Hugging Face's chief executive, the device could end up as the best-selling robot of the year. The viral clip seems to have done most of the promotional work, pushing orders up by thousands within days. Owners will be able to modify and reprogram the robot at home because the design is openly documented. If demand keeps climbing at this pace, production will need to grow faster than the team may have planned.
