Israeli forces have opened a military operation in Hebron on the West Bank. The army announced the move together with the security service Shin Bet. It follows the killing of two Israeli soldiers on Friday. Neither the army nor Shin Bet has spelled out how long the operation will last. Hebron has long been one of the tensest spots in the region. An increased military presence across the city can be expected while the operation runs.
