Nigerian artist and author Fortune Ileleji has released a new book titled 'The Law of Cohesion'. The book takes on a broad question: how the relationships between different elements end up shaping individuals, organisations and society. Ileleji said the idea grew out of questions that had followed him for years, particularly why talented people so often struggle even when the raw ability is there. He also points to the way relationships fail, and to hardworking people who still find their goals out of reach, as things the book tries to make sense of. In his view, cohesion between people and within institutions matters more than effort or talent on its own. Ileleji is known mainly for his visual work as an artist, so this book moves his ideas into a longer written form.
