A 25-year-old National University of Singapore student named Adrian Lim has set himself an ambitious deadline for his haze relief effort. He has collected 10,000 N95 masks and wants to hand out every single one of them in a single day. To pull it off, he made a public appeal for help through his initiative's Instagram page, SG As One, in a post on Friday, Oct 23. The post put the challenge plainly: 10,000 masks, one day, with the question of whether it could be done left hanging over the whole operation. Lim has form in this space, having already distributed 3,000 masks around the island with the help of volunteers. Those earlier deliveries reached locations such as Macpherson and Ang Mo Kio. The next push was planned for Sunday, Oct 25, with teams going door to door alongside the volunteers. Recipients include seniors, families in need and migrant worker communities, groups that feel the effects of haze most sharply.
