French mixed martial arts fighter Pengo Bossio Wangi has been killed in a shooting in Trappes, a town just outside Paris. News of his death came from Atch Academy, the club where the fighter trained and competed. According to the club's account, Wangi died as a direct result of the gunfire. Trappes lies in the Yvelines department, on the western edge of the greater Paris metropolitan area. The club's statement offered no details about when the shooting took place or whether anyone was detained. No motive was given either.
