Danish electricity prices are falling this weekend, and strong wind deserves the credit. Blustery weather has ramped up wind turbine output, pushing cheap power into the grid. The surplus has dragged spot prices down across the entire market. The drop marks the first time in all of October that the price has stayed under one krone per kilowatt-hour for a full 24 hours. Households on flexible tariffs can take advantage by shifting laundry, dishwashing and charging into the cheapest hours. Consumers whose rates were fixed earlier in the year will notice little difference on their bills. Prices traditionally bounce back once the wind dies down, so the bargain window is unlikely to last past the weekend.

For første gang i hele oktober falder elpriserne til under én krone per kilowatt-time i et helt døgn.
