About 5,500 children in Serbia currently live without the care of their biological parents. Roughly 90 percent of these children are placed in foster families. Around 4,000 foster families provide these children with support and a home. However, it is estimated that the country still needs at least 500 more foster parents.
U Srbiji trenutno oko 5.500 dece živi bez biološkog roditeljskog staranja, od čega je čak 90 odsto smešteno u hraniteljske porodice. Iako oko 4.000 hraniteljskih porodica pruža ovakvim mališanima jedini topli dom i podršku, procenjuje se da u našoj zemlji nedostaje bar još 500 hranitelja.
