Cape Town steps up Eskom exit plan as cheaper solar power deals take shape

Cape Town has signed its first two 20-year solar power agreements, securing 70MW at rates initially 19% to 21% below current Eskom power-purchase rates. The City says the deals are part of a wider plan to procure up to 700MW from independent producers.
