Iran’s national population and housing census began with an opening ceremony in Tehran. The ceremony took place on 24 October 2026. President Masoud Pezeshkian attended the event. Officials highlighted the importance of collecting up‑to‑date demographic data. The launch marked the start of a countrywide effort to count residents and dwellings.
