A recent poll in France shows 62% of respondents believe things were better in the past. Additionally, 70% of those surveyed would prefer to live in a previous era. Similar findings have appeared in polls conducted in the United States. A general feeling of nostalgia is spreading across the world. French philosopher Barbara Cassin has given a name to this phenomenon.
