PASOK commented on the Sinai agreement, stating it only refers to the spiritual character and legal status of the site. The party called for the text of the agreement to be published. They argued that a serious issue involving a UNESCO world heritage monument cannot be handled with a compromise logic. They noted the monastery is the oldest operating Orthodox monastery with fifteen centuries of history.
