Mainda Simata has invited street vendors to sell their goods outside his home. He is a former Kamwala Ward Councillor and was a candidate for the Kabwata Independent Member of Parliament. Simata stated that vendors require the streets to make a living. He has used this action to criticize Lusaka Mayor Mwewa Chitambala. The mayor had previously overseen the removal of street vendors.
