Interview | ‘AAP had 4.5 years to end drug menace, gangsterism in Punjab’: Sachin Pilot
Sachin Pilot stated that the BJP lacks a strong foundation in Punjab and has relied on support from SAD. He noted that SAD has split and suffers from internal problems, meaning it is no longer the force it was under Badal Senior. Pilot believes the election will be a bipolar contest regarding who can lead the region better. He mentioned other participants like Amritpal Singh’s party. However, he asserted that the people of Punjab do not provide a fractured mandate.
"BJP has no strong footing in Punjab and has survived on the back of SAD support. But SAD has also split and is facing internal issues. It is not the force like they were under Badal Senior. It will be a bipolar contest over who can lead Punjab better. There will be other players like Amritpal Singh’s party, but people of Punjab don’t give a fractured mandate," Sachin Pilot said.
