Rail ticket buyers can now obtain insurance for a small fee. The scheme provides 7.5 lakh rupees for permanent partial disability. It covers up to 2 lakh rupees for hospitalization costs related to injuries. There is also a 10,000 rupee payment for transporting the remains of deceased passengers. The Railway Board has told all zones to start this facility.
The scheme has provision for payment of Rs 7.5 lakh for permanent partial disability and up to Rs 2 lakh for hospitalisation expenses arising from injuries, as well as Rs 10,000 towards transportation of mortal remains of deceased passengers. The Railway Board has directed all its zones to implement the facility.
