Traditional rope swings are still preserved in western Gulmi. In Nepali society, swings have long been tied to festivals such as Dashain, Tihar and Teej, when villages set them up and people enjoy them with friends and relatives. The tradition has continued for years, though the growing use of modern entertainment has affected it.
