“Un libro puede ser un objeto, pero también puede ser una conversación”: Iván Onatra, autor de Lorca York
Colombian photographer Iván Onatra showcased a book titled “Lorca York” at the Monterrey International Book Fair. The volume explores the city of New York through the perspective of Spanish poet Federico García Lorca. Onatra constructs this view by assembling street elements such as notices, graffiti, posters, signage and advertisements. Each image functions as a fragment that evokes the poet’s imagined dialogue with the urban landscape. The project blends visual documentation with literary reference, offering readers a layered encounter with the city. The presentation highlighted how a book can serve both as a physical object and as a conversational platform.
