Cleophas Malala, deputy leader of the Democracy for the Citizens Party, outlined the requirements for Edwin Sifuna’s presidential bid. He said that gaining the support of voters in the Mt Kenya region is essential. Malala also stressed that an endorsement from Rigathi Gachagua would be a decisive factor. Without both regional backing and Gachagua’s support, Sifuna’s chances in the 2027 race would be limited.
