Two hawks equipped with satellite tracking devices made it back to India after a 20,000‑kilometre journey. Their route took them across 23 countries, covering parts of Africa and Asia. The birds spent months moving through diverse habitats before reaching the subcontinent. Local communities greeted their return with enthusiasm each year. Residents also said they look after the birds and protect them.
