Police from the Public Security Police acted in the early hours of Sunday to end housing‑rights protests in Lisbon and Porto. Officers used batons and deployed dogs to disperse the demonstrators. The crowd had been under pressure for more than two hours, with officials ordering participants to leave and to dismantle the tents. Visual footage of the operation was made available online.
