Her Voice initiative to mentor female wards
Tanya Kentish has launched the Her Voice mentorship programme for female wards of the state. Kentish is the Miss St James Festival Queen for 2026 and a former ward of the state herself. The initiative provides an outlet for these women to express feelings and experiences they could not previously share. The project was formally introduced last Friday at the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission office in Montego Bay. During the launch, Kentish used painting and games to engage the participants. These activities were intended as methods of personal empowerment.
