Fatih Birol, head of the International Energy Agency, told participants at the International Energy Week in Singapore that he does not see a reliable route for energy markets to return to pre‑war levels in the coming year, especially regarding Iran. He said such a recovery is unlikely to occur by 2027. Birol called on governments to place energy security at the forefront of their policy agendas.
