Sel, Fırtına, Dolu… Türkiye’de hava olayları neden artıyor?
In Turkey, the count of meteorological extreme events has risen sharply over the past two decades. Incidents that were below 400 annually in the early 2000s climbed to 1,329 between January and September 2026. Researchers link the increase mainly to global warming and climate change. In the first eight months of 2026, 1,263 extreme events were recorded. Heavy rain and flooding accounted for about a third of those cases. Storms made up roughly 20 % and hail about 17 %. The remaining events consisted of other phenomena such as snow or wind.
