Several countries including Greece, Cyprus, Egypt, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, along with the European Union, rejected a maritime agreement between Turkey and Libya at the United Nations. They issued a joint statement claiming the memorandum is invalid and has no legal effect on third parties. President Erdogan argued that these criticisms lack a legal basis.
