Turkey's women retained their European volleyball title in front of a home crowd in Istanbul. The final against Italy lasted more than two hours and swung back and forth before Turkey edged it 3-2, with sets of 16:25, 25:22, 12:25, 25:21 and 15:10. Italy took the first and third sets, but the Turks answered each time and pulled away in the deciding tiebreak.
