The excavation team of international paleontologists is working on a site near the village of Bale in southern Istria. They are uncovering dinosaur bones that are about 130 million years old. This location represents the first discovered dinosaur site in a marine environment. Divers are continuously retrieving rocks from the seabed that contain fragments of the dinosaur skeleton, which appear to belong to a previously unknown species. The investigation is expected to continue for several years. When the research is completed, the recovered fossils will be displayed to the public at the natural history museum in Croatia.
