Senapred declaró Alerta Roja en 10 comunas de la RM por peligro de remoción en masa
Chile's national disaster prevention and response service, Senapred, declared a Red Alert across ten communes of the Metropolitan Region. The step responds to the risk of mass ground movement of the debris-flow, or aluvión, type. The communes covered by the declaration are San José de Maipo, Puente Alto, Pirque, La Florida, Peñalolén, La Reina, Las Condes, Lo Barnechea, Vitacura and Colina. That makes ten local jurisdictions across the region placed under the alert at once. Senapred adopted the measure as the agency in charge of prevention and response to disasters, though the brief does not spell out what the alert will trigger on the ground. The notice was first published by La Nación.
