Director General of the Children’s Hospital, Professor Tran Minh Dinh, explained that lowering the minimum age for organ and tissue donation to fifteen years would increase the number of potential donors. He said this change could provide additional opportunities to save patients awaiting transplants. The proposal, he emphasized, must be accompanied by strict safeguards. He highlighted the need to guarantee that any donation by minors is fully voluntary. He also stressed that the health condition of the donor child must be thoroughly assessed before proceeding. Protecting the rights and welfare of the child was described as the highest priority.
