The chip company Infineon is investing 1.1 billion euros in its location in Carinthia. Plans include the creation of a production site in Villach. This facility will be the first in the world to produce high-volume gallium nitride semiconductors on 300-millimeter wafers.
Im Zuge der Pläne soll in Villach die weltweit erste Hochvolumenfertigung für Halbleiter aus Galliumnitrid (GaN) auf 300-Millimeter-Wafern entstehen.
