The Authority for Consumers and Markets has blocked the acquisition of Unox by Zwanenberg Food Group. The regulator stated that the deal would grant Zwanenberg excessive market power. This concentration of power could lead to unfair price increases for consumers. Specifically, the regulator mentioned that the cost of smoked sausages could rise too much. Because of these concerns, the takeover will not be permitted.
