The German manufacturer Infineon is investing 1.1 billion euros in Villach, Austria. This investment will fund the world's first GaN chip factory using 300 mm wafers. The company aims to expand the production of power semiconductors for data centers. These 300 mm wafers can hold 2.3 times more chips than 200 mm wafers.
