President: Independent country should not be lectured on how to live, what to do, and what not to do
President Ilham Aliyev spoke at the 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue regarding national independence. He criticized the use of double standards when one party attempts to instruct another on how to live. The president suggested that those who lecture others should first examine themselves in a mirror. He questioned whether such parties possess the moral right to teach an independent country what to do. He also questioned their right to tell an independent nation what not to do.
"Double standards are also when someone wants to teach you how to live. Though prior to doing so, you should look in the mirror and ask yourself: Do you have the moral right to lecture someone, to teach someone, to lecture an independent country on how to live, what to do, and what not to do?" President Ilham Aliyev said in his speech at the 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue.
