The Ballon d'Or event suffered from poor planning and logistical failures. Organizers failed to account for heavy afternoon traffic in London. VIP vehicles lacked police escorts to clear the way for guests. Nominated stars remained stuck in their cars while the live television broadcast waited. Some children experienced breathing difficulties, and emergency services had to intervene.
