Landeshauptleute machen Druck: Regierung soll 12-Euro-Ticketsteuer abschaffen
The mayors of several Austrian states, including Mattle, Edtstadler, Kunasek, Stelzer and Fellner, sent a joint letter to Chancellor Stocker and Transport Minister Hanke. In the letter they demanded the removal of the €12 ticket tax. Their appeal argues that the tax places an unjust burden on commuters and commuters reliant on the low‑cost ticket. The municipalities of Vienna and Lower Austria also joined the campaign, adding their own pressure on the federal government. The coordinated effort reflects growing dissatisfaction with the fiscal policy surrounding public transport subsidies. The mayors expect the federal authorities to respond promptly to the request.
Die Landeshauptleute Mattle, Edtstadler, Kunasek, Stelzer und Fellner wenden sich per Schreiben an Bundeskanzler Stocker und Verkerhsminister Hanke. Wien und Niederösterreich machen ebenfalls Druck.
