Mohsen Rezaei, the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, stated that foreign intervention in West Asia must be prevented. He argued that security in the region should come from the region itself. Rezaei claimed that guarantees provided by Washington failed and that the United States brought security to no country in the area.
