A company called Joi AI chose ten men from tens of thousands of applicants and paid them to masturbate once a day for a month while filling out questionnaires. The job listing went viral before the hiring even began, and it turned out to describe the work exactly. The firm pitches the project as a wellness answer to male loneliness. The report reads less charitably as proof that loneliness, too, can be packaged and sold with a sexual angle.
