The MP is investigating extortion payments after finding a discrepancy in a person's financial records. The individual reported monthly earnings of 2,200 quetzales, but their account showed 635,600 quetzales over three months. Investigators found cash deposits and withdrawals made shortly after those deposits. They also identified transfers linked to extortion. The probe includes banking operations both inside and outside of Guatemala.
